Therapy for when your emotions feel overwhelming and you are ready for something to change.

Hi, I’m Amanda.
My goals as a therapist are to help you connect with your values, create more adaptive ways of thinking and behavioral patterns, and build a life you want to live. My clients value both working to change long-term patterns that contribute to their distress and working on increasing acceptance and self-compassion. I specialize in helping adults with emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, and interpersonal problems. Whether you’d like to improve your mood, gain insight and control over your emotions, or need coping strategies for difficult situations, I can help.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist trained in evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I draw flexibly from these scientifically supported approaches, tailoring treatment to your individual needs and strengths.
Through my validating and nonjudgmental style, I am committed to providing clients with a safe space to be their genuine selves. I view therapy as a collaborative process that can help you work through current challenges while developing the skills, insight, and resilience to navigate future difficulties with greater confidence.
Common topics I help with:
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. I work with adults who are navigating:
Intense emotions, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or feeling numb
Constantly worrying, feeling stuck in patterns of avoidance, difficulty getting out of your own head
Feeling sad, disconnected, or unlike yourself
Trauma and its ongoing impact on daily life
Disordered eating, eating disorders, or body image and self-esteem concerns
Relationship difficulties: fearing rejection or abandonment, reacting more strongly than you'd like to, struggling with boundaries
Transitions in young adulthood, finding your footing in a new stage of life
Our work starts with understanding your experience—not judging it.
I believe…
Acceptance and change can exist together.
You deserve a space where you can be your genuine self.
Therapy works best when we build on your strengths and what matters to you.
My Approach
We’ll balance understanding what you’re experiencing with practicing new ways of responding. I use a DBT-informed approach with most clients. I also integrate CBT to explore thinking and behavioral patterns, ACT to support values-guided action, and Prolonged Exposure for trauma when appropriate. Treatment is tailored to you, with an emphasis on practical strategies for improving your everyday life.
My Background & Training
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from La Salle University and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts (PSY10000025). In addition to seeing adults in my private practice, I work with adolescents at the general and DBT outpatient programs at McLean Hospital, I hold an instructor appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and I provide DBT-informed parent coaching at The Be Center.
